These Terms and Conditions apply to Button Studio, its website, and driver files created with it. Read them before using the download service. You must tick the agreement box on Button Studio before downloading a driver.
1. Who provides Button Studio
Button Studio is provided by Online Property Systems Ltd (“OPS”, “we”, “us” or “our”). OPS is a registered Control4 dealer. Button Studio is an OPS tool for creating custom Control4 Experience Button driver files. It is not a Control4 product, is not Control4-certified, and is not endorsed by Control4.
2. Agreeing to these terms
By ticking the agreement box and downloading a driver, you confirm that you have read and agree to these Terms and Conditions. If you do not agree, do not download or use a generated driver. The version in force when you accept applies to that download.
3. The service and charges
Button Studio converts artwork and settings you provide into a custom driver archive. The hosted service is currently provided free of charge. OPS may introduce a small charge in the future. Any price will be shown before it applies, and you can choose whether to proceed. Use of the free hosted service is subject to the artwork and driver permission in section 5.
4. Control4 system and installation requirements
Generated driver files require a compatible Control4 system. They must be installed and configured by a Control4 dealer. Before installation, ask the dealer responsible for the system to confirm compatibility with the system’s hardware, software version, project and configuration. OPS does not guarantee that a generated file will work with any particular Control4 installation.
5. Your artwork and responsibilities
You are responsible for the artwork and information you provide. You confirm that you own the material or have permission to use it for this purpose, and that submitting it does not infringe another person’s rights. You retain any rights you have in your artwork.
When you use the hosted service, you give OPS permission to use, copy, store, adapt and display all artwork you submit and the driver files created from it for OPS’s own business, including Button Studio operation, support, demonstrations, promotion and service development. This permission is non-exclusive and royalty-free. OPS will not sell or resell your artwork or a generated driver file containing it. You keep ownership of your material.
Review each generated file before installation, keep backups of your Control4 project, and follow the advice of the installing dealer. Do not install a driver on a live system unless the dealer has approved it.
Hosted website use requires an account with a confirmed email address. When you generate a driver, the website records the account, dealer/company name, button name, UTC date and time, and the IP address received by the web server. The generated driver, including the resized artwork it contains, is stored in your private account library for up to 24 months so you can download it again. OPS may remove stored files at any time, and does not guarantee that a file will remain available for the full period. A file can only be downloaded again while it remains stored. Desktop app exports are not sent to OPS. See the Privacy Notice for details.
6. Security and malware scanning
OPS makes no guarantee that the website or a generated file is free from malware, viruses, defects or other harmful code. Before opening or installing a downloaded file, scan it with security software you select and trust. Use the file only after your Control4 dealer has reviewed it.
The hosted website scans each completed driver archive with ClamAV before making it available for download. Antivirus scanning can miss threats and is not a guarantee that a file is safe. It does not replace your own scan or your dealer’s review.
7. No warranties or guarantees
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Button Studio and all generated driver files are supplied “as is” and “as available”, without warranties or guarantees, whether express, implied or statutory. OPS does not guarantee uninterrupted availability, error-free operation, accuracy, compatibility, suitability for a particular purpose, performance, security, future support or any particular result.
You decide whether to use a generated file and accept the risks of testing and installing custom software on your system. Control4 system operation can be affected by many factors outside OPS’s control, including third-party hardware, project settings, software versions, networks and installation work.
8. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, OPS excludes liability for loss or damage arising from use of, inability to use, or reliance on Button Studio or a generated driver file. This includes loss of data, system or equipment damage, loss of business, revenue or profit, interruption, and indirect or consequential loss. Where liability cannot be excluded but can lawfully be limited, it is limited to the minimum extent the law allows.
Nothing in these Terms and Conditions excludes or restricts liability or a right that cannot lawfully be excluded or restricted. This includes liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, and any consumer rights that applicable law makes non-excludable. In the UK, some consumer service and digital-content protections cannot be waived by contract.
9. Control4 and other third-party names
Control4 and related names and marks belong to their respective owners. They are used only to identify the platform for which these custom drivers are intended. OPS’s dealer status does not mean that Control4 has reviewed, certified or approved Button Studio or any driver it creates.
10. Availability and changes
OPS may change, suspend or discontinue any part of Button Studio, remove stored driver files at any time, and update these terms. The current terms will be available from the website. You will be asked to accept the current version before downloading a driver after a terms update.
11. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales, subject to any mandatory consumer protections that apply where you live. The courts of England and Wales will have jurisdiction where the law permits.
